Definition An employee in this position will assist students individually and in small groups to provide remedial support in reading and/or math as directed. This employee will follow the direction of the classroom teacher and/or Principal and/or Instructional Facilitator. Duties and Responsibilities • Works directly under the supervision of the classroom teacher and/or Instructional Facilitator. • Works with students individually and in small groups to provide remedial support in reading and/or math, as directed. • Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Ability to meet the needs of all diverse learners. • Ability to work with students individually or in a small group. • Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with students, teachers, parents, and administrators. • Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form. • Ability to develop and compile records and reports. • Skilled in current assessments and using their data for teaching and learning. • Understanding the growth and development of assigned students. • Strong background in North Carolina Standard Course of Study/Common Core. • Strong technology skills. Minimum Education and Experience • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university. • Must be fully licensed as an Elementary Teacher (00025) and have previous tutoring experience.
