Job Summary
The Senior Financial Analyst for Corporate Procurement & Logistics plays a critical role in supporting Mauser Packaging Solutions' global procurement and logistics functions. The ideal candidate will manage internal management reporting, commodity index tracking, raw material analyses, supplier cost modeling, and key performance metric development. This is a hands-on position requiring a professional who can "deep dive" into complex financial data while remaining focused on the big picture.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement Data & Commodity Analysis
• Perform detailed raw material analyses, supplier cost modeling, and commodity index tracking to manage risk and drive cost control.
• Collaborate with global procurement and Strategic Business Unit (SBU) operations to develop streamlined, automated reporting templates that reduce administrative burdens.
• Provide critical analytical support to help teams achieve Mauser Earnings Initiatives Projects (EIP) goals, driving global cost optimization and business process integration.
Financial Planning, Analysis & Corporate Reporting
• P&L Variance Analysis: Review and interpret monthly profit and loss (P&L) statements across strategic business units to identify, quantify, and explain variances driven by material price fluctuations, freight volatility, and operational shifts.
• Prepare internal management reporting and analysis to support daily operational decision-making, executive leadership, and Board of Directors presentations.
• Lead the development of budgets, financial forecasts, planning models, and monthly inflation data consolidation.
• Collect, consolidate, and validate monthly financial results from multiple business units to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with corporate finance teams.
• Assist in preparing monthly results decks for distribution to executive management and the Board of Directors.
Job Requirements & Qualifications
Education & Experience
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting required.
• Experience: 5+ years of total professional finance experience, with 3–5 years specifically focused on data analysis and FP&A. Experience within a manufacturing background is highly preferred.
Technical Skills
• Advanced Modeling: Outstanding Microsoft Excel, financial modeling, and PowerPoint skills are strictly required.
• Sourcing & Logistics Competency: Understanding of procurement frameworks (e.g., freight spend analysis, index-based contracting, landed cost calculation, and PPV/Purchase Price Variance reporting).
• Systems Experience: Familiarity with Oracle Hyperion, Microsoft Access, or Power BI is considered a strong plus.
Core Competencies
• Detail-Oriented & Ethical: High level of ethics, integrity, and discretion when handling confidential corporate information.
• Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where priorities shift quickly.
• Project Ownership: Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to multi-task efficiently, meet strict deadlines, and take independent ownership of projects.
• Drive: Highly motivated and energetic, possessing a natural curiosity to learn and a passion for reporting excellence.
