The Tax Manager is responsible for overseeing all tax-related activities, ensuring compliance with local and international tax laws, and developing strategies to optimize the company’s tax position. This role involves managing direct taxes, indirect taxes and transfer pricing for India and US/Manila subsidiaries, coordinating audits, and advising leadership on tax implications of business decisions. Strong knowledge of direct and indirect tax laws, ERP systems (SAP/Oracle), and financial reporting standards Additional certifications in international taxation (US / Philippines) or transfer pricing (preferred) Key Responsibilities Tax Compliance & Reporting • Ensure timely and accurate filing of all tax returns (Income Tax, GST, TDS, etc.) • Manage tax provisions and maintain tax balances in the general ledger • Coordinate with external consultants and auditors for tax filings and audits • Monitor changes in tax regulations and ensure compliance • Maintain tax compliance and litigation register upto date along with reconciliation with books of account Tax Planning & Strategy • Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities • Advise on tax implications of mergers, acquisitions, and other business transactions • Conduct research on complex tax issues and provide actionable insights • Ensure transfer pricing documentation and compliance Stakeholder Management • Liaise with tax authorities and represent the company during assessments and audits • Collaborate with internal departments (legal, finance, operations) to ensure tax efficiency • Train and mentor junior tax staff across multiple locations and geographies CA / CPA with 5-8 years in corporate tax, preferably in a multinational or Big 4 environment
