Overall Purpose: Why the Job Exists & What You Will Do:
The Maintenance 8 (Multi-Craft Maintenance) position exists to ensure continuous, safe, and efficient operation of production equipment, CNC machinery, facilities, and support systems. This role provides advanced multi-craft technical expertise across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, CNC, and facility systems while also developing, modifying, and troubleshooting CNC programs used in manufacturing operations. In addition, this position serves as a critical technical link between Engineering and Manufacturing, translating engineering designs, drawings, and intent into functional, reliable, and production-ready machine programs and processes.
Essential Job Functions & Expected Outcomes: Your Accountabilities in the Role
Essential Job Functions
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair complex production equipment and facility systems across mechanical, electrical (12–480V), hydraulic, pneumatic, and CNC platforms.
• Write, modify, and troubleshoot CNC programs to support manufacturing operations and equipment reliability.
• Serve as a technical interface between Engineering and Manufacturing, translating designs and specifications into production-ready machine programs and processes.
• Execute and optimize preventative maintenance strategies to ensure equipment reliability and asset longevity.
• Lead response to critical equipment failures, determining safe, cost-effective corrective actions with minimal supervision.
• Install, relocate, and commission production equipment and support systems.
• Coordinate maintenance materials, spare parts, vendors, and contractors to support timely and effective repairs.
• Maintain accurate maintenance, safety, and compliance documentation while supporting on-call and emergency response requirements.
Expected Outcomes
• Production equipment and facilities operate safely, reliably, and within required performance standards.
• Unplanned downtime is minimized through effective troubleshooting, CNC program reliability, and preventative maintenance execution.
• Engineering designs are consistently converted into manufacturable, production-ready machine programs and processes.
• Equipment failures are resolved quickly with solutions that balance safety, cost, and long-term reliability.
• Preventative maintenance activities are completed on schedule and adapted based on equipment condition and performance trends.
• CNC-related issues do not impede production quality, throughput, or startup timelines.
• Maintenance costs and spare parts availability are controlled to support continuous production.
• Maintenance activities meet safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements with complete and accurate documentation.
The Maintenance Level 8 (Multi-Craft Maintenance) role provides advanced, autonomous technical support for production equipment, CNC systems, and facilities. This position resolves complex cross-discipline maintenance issues, develops and troubleshoots CNC programs, and serves as a key technical link between Engineering and Manufacturing to ensure reliable, production-ready processes, equipment uptime, and operational continuity.
