What you'll do: • Manage and lead road design projects from concept through construction. • Oversee technical design teams, ensuring compliance with AASHTO, DOT, and local standards. • Serve as the primary client liaison for project delivery, quality, and performance. • Review design calculations, plans, and specifications. • Mentor and develop junior engineers and project managers. • Support proposal development and business growth through technical leadership. What you'll bring: • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field. • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in North Carolina and/or South Carolina (or ability to become registered within six months) is strongly preferred. • 10-15 years of road design experience, including leadership of large-scale DOT or other county/municipal transportation projects. • Experience managing or being in charge of all aspects of design for a project (geometric design, typical sections, drainage/hydraulics, Maintenance of Traffic, etc.). • Familiarity with state DOT standards — in this case, specifically North/South Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT/SCDOT) design manuals, plan-preparation guides, and other related regulations and processes. • Proficiency in relevant design software/tools (MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.). • Proven ability to manage project budgets, schedules, and multidisciplinary teams. • Excellent written and oral communication skills, leadership/mentoring ability, and ability to manage multi-discipline teams.
