Strategic Market Positioning
• Commercial Strategy: Develop and execute the long-term commercial strategy to launch and scale bio fertilisers, bio stimulants, and organic soil conditioners.
• Market Penetration: Identify high-potential geographic regions and crop segments to transition B2B clients from chemical fertilisers to biological inputs.
• Pricing & Portfolio Management: Structure value-based pricing models that align with farming seasonal lifecycles and competing chemical products.
Sales & Distribution Channel Management
• Dealer Network Expansion: Build and scale robust institutional distributor, dealer, and retail networks across rural and semi-urban agricultural hubs.
• B2B Partnership Development: Secure high-value supply contracts with large-scale corporate farms, government agricultural boards, and institutional sugar cooperatives.
• Supply Chain Alignment: Collaborate with logistics and manufacturing teams to ensure product availability aligns with seasonal crop plantation windows.
Team Leadership & Brand Awareness
• Cross-functional Leadership: Lead and mentor the regional sales, agronomy support, and corporate marketing teams to meet performance KPIs.
• Farmer Education & Marketing: Drive demand through technical field-demonstration campaigns, extension services, and localised trust-building marketing initiatives.
• Regulatory & Compliance Liaison: Work alongside legal teams to navigate biological registration, environmental quality standard certifications, and government subsidy policies.
Requirements
The role requires a rare blend of high-level agricultural domain knowledge and seasoned corporate commercial acumen.
Education
• Primary Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Agricultural Business, Microbiology, or a closely related science discipline.
• Advanced Degree: Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) in Marketing, International Business, or Agribusiness Management is highly preferred.
Experience
• Industry Tenure: Minimum of 20 to 25 years of executive-level experience in the agricultural input sector (fertilisers, crop protection, seeds, or biological).
• Leadership Track Record: Proven history of scaling commercial pipelines, managing multi-regional sales structures, and delivering multi-million dollar revenue goals.
Core Technical & Soft Skills
• Agri-Input Domain Knowledge: Clear understanding of bio fertiliser types (e.g., Rhizome, Azotobacter, PSB), soil microbiology, and sustainable farming challenges.
• Financial Acumen: Advanced skills in commercial budgeting, credit control management for distributor networks, and forecasting macro-market margins.
• Regulatory Understanding: Familiarity with national fertiliser control orders, bio-safety compliance norms, and organic certification frameworks.
• Relationship Management: Exceptional negotiation skills to engage with corporate agribusiness stakeholders, ag-tech startups, and rural cooperative unions.
