Position Summary As a Cloud Network Architect, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and operating secure, scalable, and highly available cloud network architectures, with a strong primary focus on Microsoft Azure and exposure to AWS. You will act as the technical authority for cloud networking, combining deep architectural oversight with a hands-on, practical mindset, supporting teams in day-to-day operations as well as complex troubleshooting scenarios. The role requires extensive knowledge of generic network principles (routing, switching, segmentation, firewalls, DNS, connectivity patterns) applied in modern cloud and hybrid environments. You will partner closely with Cloud Engineering, Security, Platform, and Application teams to ensure reliable connectivity for all cloud workloads while maintaining a secure and compliant network posture. Cloud Network Architecture & Design • Design and maintain end-to-end cloud network architectures in Azure, including VNETs, subnets, routing, shared services, and connectivity models. • Define and evolve hub-and-spoke, shared services, and hybrid network topologies. • Act as architect-level owner for network topology, IP addressing strategies, and traffic flow design. • Review and approve network designs for new platforms, workloads, and cloud migrations. Azure Network Engineering & Operations (Must-Have) • Hands-on engineering and operational responsibility for Azure networking services including VNETs, NSGs, UDRs, Azure Firewall, Load Balancer, Application Gateway, Private Endpoints, and Private DNS. • Design, implement, and operate enterprise Azure connectivity including Azure Virtual WAN (vWAN), ExpressRoute, and VPN-based connectivity models. • Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and performance of cloud network services. • Support secure connectivity for IaaS, PaaS, Kubernetes (AKS), and shared platforms. Troubleshooting & Technical Escalation • Act as the highest-level escalation point for complex network incidents and outages. • Perform deep layer 3–7 troubleshooting, traffic flow analysis, and root-cause investigations. • Support teams hands-on with debugging issues across cloud, hybrid, and multi-cloud environments. Security, Governance & Compliance • Ensure cloud networking designs follow secure-by-design and zero-trust principles. • Collaborate with Security teams on firewalling, segmentation, ingress/egress controls, and monitoring. • Define and enforce network standards, design patterns, and guardrails. Automation & Infrastructure as Code • Design and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for network resources using Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates. • Promote standardized, reusable network modules and reference architectures. Required Qualifications • 7+ years of experience in networking, cloud networking, or cloud architecture roles. • Strong hands-on Azure networking experience (must-have). • Excellent troubleshooting skills and deep understanding of core networking concepts. • Experience with hybrid cloud connectivity and Infrastructure as Code.
