Barge Design Solutions, Inc. is seeking a motivated Bridge Engineering Associate to join our growing team in Alabama. In this role, you will take an active part in delivering meaningful infrastructure solutions that directly impact the communities we serve. Responsibilities Works as a member of a bridge design team to design highway bridge projects for public clients at the local, county or state level Works with a team in the preparation of plans, specifications and estimates for projects of various sizes and complexity Independently and confidently performs structural engineering design, modeling and calculations associated with highway bridge design projects Assists in the planning, development, and coordination of bridge engineering designs Assists in the preparation or modification of reports specifications, plans, permits, and designs for bridge related projects Collaborates with project team members, client representatives, review agencies to help resolve a variety of complex problems Assists in the analysis of reports, maps, drawings, and tests, in order to plan and design projects Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents Performs bridge inspections for routine and complex bridge structures, prepare reports and bridge repair plans, and coordinate with other team members Accompanies Engineers and technicians to bridge inspection site visits as needed Performs other duties as requested
