Set up and operate assembly machines for the assembly of precision aircraft quality blind fasteners. Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Competencies: Recognize when measuring devices, such as micrometers and calipers, are out of calibration Operate and maintain tools like micrometers, calipers, comparators, microscopes, and tensile testers. Grasp basic assembly area terms and identify major systems (power supply, controls, feeding systems) in assembly machines. Meet quality and production standards, perform minor troubleshooting, and use the correct apparatus for testing and lubrication. Interpret hardbacks, product drawings, and perform and document first article inspections and quality checks according to procedures. Conduct necessary computer transactions for assembly operations and work closely with supervision on systems like T-Card and production management. Initiate maintenance work orders and prioritize them appropriately. Understand part feature terminology, read and interpret product drawings, bills of material, control plans, and work instructions. Distinguish between single and double-action assemblies. Follow Lock Out/Tag Out procedures and use proper personal protective equipment (PPE). Be aware of specific hazards related to their job and understand the plant’s EHS rules and policies. Use employee signatures for production sign-off, complete procedural training, and be familiar with relevant documentation and quality policies. Engage with leadership for guidance, communicate openly about job performance, and strive to meet or exceed key performance indicators.
