GA-ASI has an exciting new opportunity for a Flight Technologies Tools and Support Engineering Manager in Poway, CA. The engineering manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing the systems and business processes of the Flight Technologies department. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Manage and mentor a team of engineers with a focus on the flight sciences (GNC, aerodynamics, flight performance, and CFD) and specifically the tools that enable their work. • Manage the compute resources of the department, including maintenance and upgrades. • Manage the capital expenses for the department. • Manage software licensing for the department. • Oversee resource planning for the department. • Oversee department bid and proposal work. • Develop and maintain the roadmap for investment in the tools used by the department, to include codes developed internally by the team as well as COTS software packages. • Recruit, hire, retain, and develop engineers with broad flight sciences backgrounds that align with the development roadmap. • Closely coordinate resources with other department leaders as needed We recognize and appreciate the value and contributions of individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences and welcome all qualified individuals to apply.
