You'll set technical direction for a TypeScript frontend platform serving a large data-intensive engineering program. This is a hands-on role: you'll write code, own architecture, and raise the ceiling for a team of ~6 engineers. Expect to work directly with backend, product, and end users. What you'll do • Co-own architecture for a React/TypeScript/Next.js application backed by gRPC/protobuf services • Drive design of data-access layers (BFF/API boundaries, caching, pagination, streaming) where payload size and memory pressure are real constraints • Set and enforce standards across a Turborepo monorepo: shared packages, versioning, build/CI performance, dependency hygiene • Lead technical design reviews; write the design docs and white papers that anchor them • Diagnose hard problems: memory exhaustion, render performance, pipeline issues • Mentor engineers across levels and enable the team to work faster • Work directly with customers and stakeholders to shape requirements, then decompose them into scoped, estimable work
