Setup operator ensures continuous production flow by preparing, loading, and staging component reels onto feeders and pick-and-place carts. The role minimizes line downtime and prevents placement errors by ensuring the correct parts are installed accurately before a job starts. • Accurately load electronic components into the correct feeder sizes and pitches according to the Bill of Materials (BOM) and setup sheets. • Double-check component values, part numbers, polarity, and quantities against job documentation before handing feeders over to machine operators. • Prepare and stage feeder carts for upcoming production jobs while the SMT line is currently running to reduce machine downtime. • Inspect, clean, and perform basic preventative maintenance on feeders to prevent mechanical jams or misfeeds during production. • Account for all materials received from the stockroom, print part labels, and return unused components correctly. • Strictly adhere to ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) guidelines and handling procedures for sensitive electronic components.
