Propel your legal career by joining a premier Employment Litigation practice at the forefront of the Chicago legal market. We are seeking a high-caliber Employment Litigation Associate (2–3 years) to join Fisher Phillips, a distinguished national firm renowned for its forward-thinking innovation and sophisticated approach to workplace law. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a collaborative team dedicated to navigating high-stakes litigation, leveraging cutting-edge technology, and providing strategic counsel for a diverse range of clients. - About the Role As an Employment Litigation Associate in our Chicago, IL office, you will serve as a vital advocate and advisor to employers navigating the complex landscape of modern workplace law. You will manage a dynamic portfolio that balances hands-on litigation with proactive client counseling. This role is designed for a driven, growth-minded practitioner—either with established employment law experience or a strong general litigation background and a demonstrated passion for labor and employment law—who thrives in a modern hybrid work environment. Key Responsibilities • Litigation Management: Work as part of a dedicated team handling employment litigation matters from start to finish, including drafting pleadings, managing complex discovery, and participating in mediations. • Courtroom Advocacy: Take ownership of critical litigation milestones by taking and defending depositions and arguing motions in court. • Advisory & Compliance: Partner directly with clients on day-to-day workplace challenges, including drafting and revising employee handbooks, creating compliance frameworks, and delivering high-level training. • Innovative Client Education: Utilize unique, cutting-edge technology platforms to educate and guide clients through complex business and legal challenges. • Team Collaboration: Work under the direct mentorship of talented partners while maintaining empathy and commitment toward fellow team members. Requirements • Experience: 2 to 3 years of substantive litigation experience. While prior employment law experience is preferred, we are eager to develop talented litigators with strong transferable skills and a clear interest in labor and employment law. • Bar Admission: Must be actively admitted to practice law and a member in good standing of the Illinois Bar. • Academic Background: Juris Doctorate (JD) required from an ABA-accredited law school with excellent academic credentials. • Skills: Strong writing and analytical skills, a relentless commitment to client service, and the ability to manage multiple projects seamlessly in a fast-paced environment. • Application Materials: To apply, please provide a cover letter (addressed to Attorney Recruiting), resume, law school transcript, and a brief, unedited writing sample (10 pages maximum). Why This Opportunity? • Innovation Leader: Join a firm on the cutting edge of legal technology and innovation, offering you the tools to deliver progressive, efficient solutions to clients. • Dedicated Mentorship: Grow your practice and sharpen your legal acumen under the guidance of highly respected partners invested in your long-term career trajectory. • Comprehensive Compensation: A yearly salary range of $155,000 - $175,000 (commensurate with experience, qualifications, and skills), paired with an elite benefits package. • Robust Benefits Package: Includes medical, dental, and vision coverage, generous paid time off, paid parental leave, 401(k) with profit sharing, and unique optional perks like pet insurance and a student loan refinancing program. Location / Working Model • Location: Chicago, IL. • Working Model: We value the synergy of connection alongside modern flexibility; this role operates successfully within a supportive hybrid work environment.
