Description Job Title: Insurance Verification & Authorization Specialist Experience: 1–2 years Employment Type: Full-Time Location: Preferably Kolkata, or candidates willing to relocate to Kolkata Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Insurance Verification & Authorization Specialist with experience in customer service, healthcare administration, insurance verification, or managed care. The ideal candidate will be responsible for verifying insurance benefits, obtaining required authorizations, communicating coverage details, and ensuring all payer requirements are completed before services are provided. Key Responsibilities Contact insurance carriers to verify active policy status, co-pays, deductibles, coinsurance, out-of-pocket maximums, and provider network status. Obtain and track pre-authorizations and Letters of Agreement required by payers for specific treatments, services, or medical devices. Communicate insurance coverage details and estimated patient financial responsibility to providers and relevant teams. Resolve insurance discrepancies in coordination with clinical and billing departments. Accurately document insurance information, coordination of benefits, and authorization approval or denial outcomes. Update patient information in Electronic Health Record (EHR), Electronic Medical Record (EMR), or practice management systems. Ensure all payer requirements are fulfilled before the scheduled service. Support the revenue cycle by preventing claim delays and minimizing front-end billing errors. Follow up on pending authorizations and maintain accurate records of all verification activities. Shift time: 5.30 PM to 2.30 AM Work from Office Salary up to -3.6 LPA Exp- 1yr + Requirements Required Qualifications 1–2 years of experience in customer service, healthcare administration, insurance verification, or managed care. Medical billing experience will be an added advantage. Knowledge of insurance policies, benefits verification, and authorization procedures. Basic proficiency with EMR/EHR or practice management software. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent attention to detail and documentation accuracy. Strong problem-solving and follow-up abilities. Ability to coordinate effectively with insurance companies, providers, clinical teams, and billing departments. Preferred Skills Experience working with commercial insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, or other healthcare payers. Familiarity with in-network and out-of-network benefits. Ability to explain insurance coverage and patient responsibility clearly. Strong organizational and time-management skills.
