We boldly challenge what’s possible for a sustainable world. Job Summary: Trane in Tempe, AZ is hiring for a Controls Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for hardware and software design activities for small building automation systems. Applies engineering principles and practices for work on assigned projects. Designs cost effective control solutions to meet project requirements. Responsibilities: • Responsible for design of comfort control and automation systems. • Responsible for obtaining and reviewing contract documents; mechanical plans, specifications, estimates, equipment submittals, etc. for incorporation into the design of an automation system. • Be able to conduct on-site project surveys within the district if need to determine controls solutions. • Responsible for creating installation drawings, submittal drawings, sequences of operations for the efficient installation of the project. • Responsible for transitioning these documents to the field. • May have programing responsibilities. • Responsible for the follow-up of creating as-built drawings, operation & maintenance manuals, and assisting with the transition of these to the service department. • Responsible for the production of all of the above which meets the project requirements and staying within the project estimate. • Maintains customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective action, communication with staff, providing customer feedback and solutions.
