Work performed independently while family is at the office. Compensation: $28-32 per hour, depending on experience Start Date: ASAP Requirements • Maintain a smoke-free environment • Reliable transportation • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision • Comfortable with dogs and cats About Our Family We’re a busy, loving household with two young children and five beloved pets. Both parents work full-time in office settings, which creates a need for reliable behind-the-scenes support to keep the home running smoothly. The household includes two dogs and three kittens who are fully part of daily life, making pets a thoughtful and integrated part of the role. A cleaning service visits every other Thursday, and the family highly values someone who can proactively manage day-to-day organization, tidying, and household systems between those visits. This includes maintaining order in high-traffic areas, as well as overseeing basic home upkeep and household supplies. The family appreciates a proactive approach, preferring action and good judgment over a long list of specific questions, and values someone who can anticipate needs, make decisions confidently, and keep things moving smoothly behind the scenes. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys creating order, supporting family routines, and contributing to a warm, functional, and welcoming home environment. Who You Are / What We're Looking For • Proactive and independent, able to work behind the scenes with minimal supervision • Self-starter who sees what needs to be done and takes action without waiting for direction • Comfortable making judgment calls and prioritizing results over perfect processes • Understands that getting something mostly right is better than being stalled by perfectionism • An animal lover who is comfortable working around dogs and cats • Open to candidates with prior house management experience or strong transferable skills looking to grow • Resourceful, reliable, and ready to support a busy family in staying organized Key Responsibilities Household Organization & Maintenance • Create and maintain organization systems throughout the home, particularly in the mudroom, kitchen, and kids' playroom • Perform daily resets including light tidying, dishes, wiping surfaces, and vacuuming high-traffic areas • Prepare the home for the cleaning service (ideally Tuesday or Wednesday before their Thursday visit) • Change batteries, light bulbs, and smoke detectors as needed • Occasional seasonal swaps for kids' clothing and bedding Deep Cleaning & Special Projects • Occasional deep cleaning tasks such as baseboards, oven, and refrigerator • Clean and maintain humidifiers and air purifiers • Organize and rotate toys and activity gear • Support with one-off large clean-out and trash haul projects Inventory & Errands • Monitor household supplies and add items to the shared shopping list as you notice things running low • Bring packages inside the home Meal Support • Chop fruits and vegetables purchased by the family for easy access throughout the week • Clean up after meal prep Laundry & Linens • Put away towels and bedding (family handles washing) • Keep laundry area tidy and well-stocked Family Support • Prepare and coordinate donation drop-offs • Let in scheduled repair or service professionals as needed Pet Care • Monitor robotic litter boxes and alert family if they malfunction • Add pet supplies to the shared shopping list as needed • Follow household pet rules (keep bedroom doors closed, prevent cats from accessing the basement, be mindful when entering and exiting the home) How to Apply Please submit a short intro letter, your updated resume, and three professional references with contact information. Please note that this role requires a background check.
