About Alma Alma del Mar is a K-8 charter school whose mission is to put every one of our scholars on the path to college and to challenge them to be service-minded leaders. This position is intended to start in August 2026 and is budgeted for just the 2026-2027 school year. Successful teaching assistants will be considered for other roles for which they are qualified. The Teaching Assistant - Temporary Role Our Teaching Assistant role is a perfect opportunity to give talented individuals practice and experience teaching and working with kids. • They will support with schoolwide systems and routines like arrival, meal times, recess, and dismissal. • They will work in collaboration with and under the guidance of experienced Lead Teachers. • Teaching Assistants may also act as substitutes throughout the building as needed. • The content and age range of students they work with will depend on the needs of the school. Who We’re Looking For We seek outstanding people with the following qualifications: • Must be 18 or older • Prior experience working with children in a professional capacity, or as a regular volunteer is required • A passion for working with kids and a belief that all kids can succeed • Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply and will be compensated higher. School hours are 8:20-4:00 for staff. Compensation: Salary for this role is $40,000. Multilingual candidates are compensated higher.
