POSITION DESCRIPTION: This organization is seeking a physician leader for a facility medical director and supervising physician role, which includes some patient care duties. Physicians see patients in skilled nursing facilities and are remotely supported by a robust clinical and administrative team. The duties of the role include, among other responsibilities: - medical directorship(s) for SNFs - ensure engagement with facility leadership, other providers, patients, and families - help identify growth opportunities in local market - supervise nurse practitioners - audit documentation for supervised providers on a monthly basis - provide high-quality complex geriatric care to patients - collaborate with other healthcare providers as needed - participate in the on-call schedule - attend required trainings and meetings The new physician leader will also be charged with keeping focus on quality outcomes such as: - care path compliance - productivity - prevention of avoidable transfers - decrease in polypharmacy - costs of care The practice uses an EHR on a mobile-based platform.
