The Before and After School Group Leader implements classroom curriculum, provides homework assistance, communicates information to families, and maintains a safe, healthy, engaging, and nurturing environment. This opening serves the Emilson Y branch and Norwell locations. Days are full of hands-on engagement, from morning activities to after-school homework help, gross motor play, and arts and crafts. Your Role Will Include: • Program Management: Plan and execute programs meeting EEC/HEPA standards and children's needs; accommodate children with disabilities per EEC and ADA. • Staff Engagement: Directly supervise program participants and volunteers; plan and direct staff work per EEC/QRIS standards. • Membership Engagement: Build family relationships, resolve inquiries, and help recruit new families. • Facility Management: Keep program facilities and equipment safe, clean, and well maintained. • Volunteer Development: Engage volunteers. • Community Involvement: Support YMCA fundraising activities and events. Qualifications: • Must be 18 years of age or older, with a high school diploma or GED plus 6+ months of experience working with school-age children. • Associate's or Bachelor's degree a plus, with 3+ months of experience working with school-age children. • Reliable transportation required, comfortable and able to work across more than one location as needed. • Must pass background check: EEC background check including fingerprinting. • Knowledge of EEC regulations. • Strong relationship-building skills with staff, children, families, and volunteers; positive, professional approach to family needs. • EEC Professional Development requirements; PQ Registry current; CPR/First Aid (provided), Child Protection, and Employee Safety training upon hire. Physical Demands: • This role requires the ability to stand, walk, kneel, stoop, reach, lift up to 25 lbs, and actively engage in activities such as climbing, running, and outdoor play. Locations & Shift Times: • Part-time, AM, PM or Split shift.
