Filled with advanced equipment and skilled specialists, Cameron is a modern, high-tech facility that provides advanced diagnostics, a variety of specialties and cutting-edge treatment options that are combined with highly personalized and compassionate care.   DEPARTMENT: Surgery JOB TITLE: Surgical Tech Apprentice (STA) SHIFT: PRN, part time as needed, Days   Summary Assists surgery staff to prepare the operating suite for procedure, during the procedure, and with operating room turnovers.   Qualifications Experience Minimal or 12-week clinical rotation experience required Skills/Competencies Knowledge of sterile technique. Knowledge of operating room procedures.  Willing to learn usage of new equipment and techniques.    Education  High School graduate   Certification Current CPR certification    Essential Functions Exemplifies good customer service. Demonstrates knowledge of perioperative factors that might alter the perioperative phase. Ensures sterile and aseptic technique when opening supplies, setting up for procedures, and maintains throughout procedure. Proficient at cleaning of operating room before and between cases. Prepares case carts by pulling supplies and instruments from physician preference cards. Performs surgical scrub and hold retractors under the guidance of physician and CST/RN. Reports any breach in sterility to surgeon and circulating RN. Completes annual education and regulatory requirements, including state and federal regulation. Qualifications:
