Job Details: Job Location: SHAH Development - Christiansburg, VA, Salary Range: Undisclosed, Shah Development has immediate openings for full time Heavy Equipment Operators.   Job Duties:   Operate all heavy equipment in a safe and efficient way according to all relevant policies and procedures to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life. Perform daily safety and maintenance checks Clean heavy equipment as scheduled and/or required Ensure heavy equipment is safely and securely stored Practice workplace safety Maintain inventory Use equipment for snow removal Use equipment to level roads and ensure proper drainage Manual Labor- Dig ditches, work/service equipment, lifting in gross of 100 lbs. and any other manual labor as directed by supervisor Education and Experience Requirements: Valid driver’s license, unrestricted Knowledge of truck and equipment safety Knowledge of operation of front end loaders, dozers, graders, skid steers and other pieces of heavy equipment Knowledge of equipment maintenance and storage Knowledge of road construction and maintenance techniques Knowledge of workplace safety requirements and procedures Knowledge of record keeping system Knowledge of equipment cleaning standards and procedures Required Skills: Ability to operate single and double axle trucks in a safe and responsible manner Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner Analytical and problem solving Decision making Effective verbal and listening communications Ability to communicate effectively Ability to read and write to record pickups and maintain daily records Stress management Time management Pay Range: $28 - $38 / hr.
