Job Details: Level: Experienced, Job Location: Hotel 30 - Galveston, TX, Position Type: Part Time, Education Level: None, Salary Range: $17.00 - $17.00Hourly, Travel Percentage: None, Job Shift: Any, Job Category: Restaurant - Food Service,   JOB SUMMARY: The Pantry Cook prepares recipe items to minimize recipe preparation time.     POSITION AUTHORITY: The incumbent is authorized to take reasonable action necessary to carry out assigned duties and responsibilities, provided such action is consistent with position guidelines as outlined below.   POSITION GUIDELINES: Position guidelines include, but are not limited to, established company and department policies and procedures and all supervisory directives.  The incumbent is expected to exercise sound, reasonable judgment and initiative, and give high priority to accuracy and detail in the performance of job responsibilities. Qualifications: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Check the Pantry Cook Checklist at the beginning of the shift to know responsibilities for Kitchen preparations and Banquet functions Keep work area clean (work table, cutting board, slicers, sink, etc.) to avoid food contamination Prepare food- slice meat and vegetables daily and keep food organized and labeled properly Prepare the buffet table and the line for Á la carte Make sure the coolers are running at the right temperature Handle fresh seafood with care, keeping it iced down at all times. Prepare for the next shift Follow recipes at all times Any other duties as assigned; duties are subject to change as management deems necessary to best serve the needs of Moody Gardens   EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: High School diploma or equivalent required Formal Culinary School education or 5 years’ experience in a similar position required   REQUIRED SKILLS: Must be reliable and responsible Ability to read, write, and communicate in English both verbally and in writing Ability to operate kitchen appliances such as stoves, ovens, mixers, etc.   PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to grasp, lift, carry, or otherwise move or push goods on a hand cart weighing up to 50 pounds regularly Ability to perform duties in confined spaces Ability to remain on feet for long periods Ability to perform duties within extreme temperature ranges
