Do you desire a position that has an opportunity to learn and excel? If yes, Lakemary is looking for a PRN-Cook for our Food Service Program. In this role you will prepare entrees and dishes for full meal preparation. This role functions under general supervision of a Registered Dietitian. Cook Responsibilities: Nutrition: Meet the nutritional needs of residents Meet individual, cultural, and religious food preferences of the residents. Portion out food, cut to size for appropriate servings according to portion control standards Understanding food preparation and services. Prepares and cooks food and bakery goods using the standardized recipes and safe food handling practices. Prepares and cooks food to meet special dietary needs Preparation: Works on the tray line during breakfast and lunch. Ensure proper portions. Serve breakfast Utilizes and properly rotates any over production of food items. An ideal candidate for this position has: Knowledge of: Food quality standards and health, sanitation, and safety procedures. Foods and food preparation. The operation and care of kitchen equipment. Safety and sanitary measures involved in meat handling. Materials, methods, and equipment used in preparing and serving food on a large scale. The principles of inventory control. Ability to: Lift and carry heavy objects. Understand, learn and follow instructions and procedures, both orally and in writing. Accurately weigh and measure ingredients. Understand and follow standardized recipes. Perform basic math computations; to accurately weigh and measure ingredients. Operate an oven. Work long hours in rooms at high temperatures. To keep records. Clean and sanitize work area.
