This vital role involves providing professional interpretation services within the court system, facilitating clear and accurate communication between English and Spanish-speaking parties specific to legal proceedings. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Serve as an interpreter in court settings, ensuring effective communication among judges, attorneys, and defendants or witnesses. • Deliver accurate and impartial interpretation of legal discussions, documents, and terminology in real-time. • Follow all legal and ethical guidelines governing the role of court interpreters, including maintaining confidentiality. • Prepare for court appearances by reviewing relevant case materials and familiarizing yourself with specific legal terminology. • Stay updated on best practices and legal requirements related to court interpretation. REQUIREMENTS: • Fluency in both English and Spanish, including excellent oral and written communication skills. • A valid Court Certification for Spanish interpretation is required. • Strong knowledge of legal terminology and court procedures in both languages. • Attention to detail and the ability to work effectively under pressure in a courtroom environment. • Prior experience as a court interpreter is preferred.
