Job Details: Job Location: Salem Academy and College - Winston Salem, NC, Salary Range: Undisclosed, The Chemistry Lab Assistant supports the Chemistry Department by assisting faculty with the preparation, organization, and maintenance of instructional laboratories. This position provides students with valuable hands-on laboratory experience while helping ensure chemistry labs operate safely, efficiently, and in accordance with established laboratory safety standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Prepare laboratory equipment, chemicals, glassware, and supplies for laboratory classes. Set up and clean up chemistry laboratories before and after lab sessions. Clean, organize, and properly store laboratory equipment, glassware, and chemicals. Monitor laboratory supply inventory and notify faculty when materials need to be replenished. Assist faculty with routine laboratory preparation and basic laboratory procedures. Follow all chemical hygiene and laboratory safety procedures, including the proper handling and disposal of chemical waste. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment. Perform other duties as assigned in support of the Chemistry Department. Qualifications: Strong attention to detail and commitment to laboratory safety.
