Hourly Rate: $32.00 to $37.00 an hour Position: Reefer Technician Location: Logan Township, NJ Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm Put your experience to work at Bentley Truck Services! The Reefer Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and rebuilding transport refrigeration units on Hino and Isuzu trucks. This role performs advanced mechanical and electrical repairs, troubleshoots refrigeration systems, and may assist with guiding and mentoring other technicians. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Diagnose and repair diesel engines and transport refrigeration systems. • Perform engine, transmission, and major refrigeration component rebuilds. • Troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues. • Perform and oversee DOT annual inspections. • Follow EPA refrigerant handling requirements and environmental regulations. • Coordinate with parts departments and vendors to support timely repairs. • Maintain accurate repair and regulatory documentation. • Provide technical guidance and support to other mechanics as needed. • Physical Requirements • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. • Ability to perform physically demanding work in shop and field environments. • Ability to safely operate shop equipment, tools, and machinery. Qualifications • 5+ years of diesel mechanic and transport refrigeration experience. • Strong diagnostic, mechanical, and electrical troubleshooting skills. • Hino and Isuzu experience preferred. • EPA certification required for technicians handling regulated refrigerants. • ASE certifications preferred. • Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred.
