The Kitchen Steward is responsible for cleaning dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen equipment while maintaining clean, organized, and sanitary work areas. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, silverware, and other items cleared from dining areas. Clean heavy pots, pans, cooking utensils, and kitchen equipment. Sweep, mop, dust, and clean assigned kitchen and back-of-house areas. Monitor kitchen trash receptacles and empty them as needed. Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary workstations. Properly use cleaning supplies and equipment according to safety procedures. Assist kitchen team members during busy service periods as needed. Maintain a positive and professional demeanor when interacting with guests, fellow team members, management, and vendors. Follow all company policies, sanitation standards, and safety procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. : Education and Experience High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous experience working in a kitchen, restaurant, or dishwasher position is preferred but not required. Qualifications and Requirements Ability to take direction and follow verbal and written instructions. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English. Bilingual English and Spanish skills are a plus. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced and potentially stressful environment. Ability to maintain composure and a positive attitude during busy periods. Ability to work successfully with team members and management at all levels. Must maintain a professional and well-groomed appearance. Must be dependable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high cleanliness standards. Must be flexible and available to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed. Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondhand smoke, high noise levels, bright lights, heat, humidity, and dust.
