Job Summary: The Security Guard is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of all guests, employees, and property at Gurney’s Montauk Resort & Seawater Spa. This position requires vigilance, professionalism, and a guest-first attitude while monitoring the premises, responding to incidents, and supporting a secure and welcoming resort environment. Key Responsibilities: • Patrol resort property regularly, including guest areas, back-of-house, parking lots, and beaches • Monitor security systems and access control points • Respond quickly to emergency situations, including medical, fire, theft, or disturbances • Document all incidents and prepare accurate security reports • Escort guests or staff when needed to ensure safety • Enforce property policies, including noise, alcohol, and visitor protocols • Assist in crowd control during events and busy periods • Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency responders as necessary • Support lost-and-found operations and guest inquiries related to safety Qualifications: • Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience preferred • NYS Security Guard License required (or willingness to obtain) • CPR/First Aid certification a plus • Strong observational and problem-solving skills • Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed Physical Requirements: • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally • Comfortable working in indoor and outdoor environments in various weather conditions Pay Range and Compensation Package: • Hourly Rate: $25.00 per hour • Exclusive Perks: Employee discounts on accommodations, dining, and spa services. • Growth & Development: Opportunities for professional development and career advancement.
