Core Responsibilities Ensure customer satisfaction by accurately and efficiently checking out customers at the checkstand while taking accountability for payment and refund transactions. Checkout Operations: Promptly scan, weigh, or ring up customer purchases. Collect correct payment amounts, issue accurate change, and process coupons, WIC, and various forms of tender. Register Accountability: Maintain precise records for till drawer balances, count cash, and log voids or refunds accurately. Store Operations Support: Assist with price checks, answer and forward calls, use the PA system, assist courtesy clerks with bagging, refill supplies, and keep checkstand/accountability rooms clean. Customer & Team Engagement: Greet, help, and thank all customers with a friendly demeanor and eye contact. Explain ads, specials, and store promotions, assist with merchandise questions, and provide "World Class Service" with local hospitality. Working Conditions & Physical Demands Environment: Continuously perform duties indoors in an air-conditioned, fast-paced environment with high customer volume, noise, and occasional dust or merchandise/perfume odors. Physical Effort: Continuously stand, reach, handle merchandise, and use fine finger dexterity. Frequently push, pull, lift, and carry up to 40 lbs when assisting customers. Occasionally walk or climb stairways to retrieve/store cash tills. Seldom bend or crouch to retrieve items or perform clean-up. Good color vision is required for fruit identification. Equipment Use: Continuously operate scanner, conveyor belt, register terminal, till drawer, and handle cash. Frequently handle reusable, plastic, or paper bags, tape dispensers, scissors, telephone, and PA system. Availability: General availability 7 days a week, including holidays, between 5:15 AM and 12:30 AM.
