If you’re looking for a predictable linehaul job without the constant route changes, heavy freight handling, or days away from home, this may be a good fit. You’ll run a consistent Reno–West Sacramento route, primarily performing drop-and-hook trailer movements with very little freight handling. Drivers average approximately 45–50 hours per week and return home after every shift. Schedule & Pay $33.00–$35.00/hour Typical annual earnings of approximately $77,000–$91,000, based on 45–50 hours per week Monday–Friday schedule Evening start time generally between 6:00–8:00 PM Typical finish around 6:00 AM, depending on freight volume, weather, and operational needs Home after every shift Why Drivers Like This Route Consistent Reno–West Sacramento linehaul Mostly drop & hook Rarely touch freight 53' trailer operation Newer leased trucks with automatic transmissions $40/month cell phone stipend Paid vacation, sick days, and holidays Health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid training Stable Monday–Friday work week More than 35 years of company stability What You’ll Do Safely operate a Class A tractor-trailer on the assigned nightly linehaul route Transport time-sensitive freight between Reno and West Sacramento Perform primarily drop-and-hook trailer movements Complete required pre-trip and post-trip inspections Maintain accurate ELD logs, manifests, inspection reports, and other driver documentation Safely install and use tire chains when winter conditions require them Follow company safety policies and applicable DOT, FMCSA, TSA, and OSHA requirements Maintain dependable and consistent attendance Qualifications Valid Class A CDL Minimum 2 years of verifiable Class A tractor-trailer driving experience Experience operating 53' tractor-trailers Previous snow chaining experience required Safe driving record Ability to work a consistent evening/overnight schedule Hazmat endorsement preferred Ability to meet DOT, FMCSA, TSA, company, insurance, background-screening, and drug-testing requirements This is a safety-sensitive position subject to federal drug and alcohol testing requirements. Must be at least 23 years of age. Minimum of two (2) years commercial driving experience. Clean DMV record (no serious moving violations in the past 5 years) Valid DOT Medical Examination Card. Ability to successfully pass a drug screen and TSA background check. Knowledge of DOT, FMSCA, federal, state, and local traffic laws and regulations. Hazardous materials (HAZMAT) certification, preferred. Experience driving in adverse weather conditions, mountains, and chaining installation.
