Job Details: Job Location: Christ Chapel Bible Church - FORT WORTH - Fort Worth, TX, Position Type: Part Time, Salary Range: Undisclosed, Role's Mission:
This position strengthens Fort Worth Campus care by providing the ministry coordination, systems support, volunteer care, and relational follow-through necessary for care-oriented groups to function with clarity, consistency, and a distinctly pastoral tone. The role helps translate ministry direction into reliable execution so that leaders are equipped, participants are supported, and ministers can remain focused on the work that most requires pastoral judgment and shepherding.
This is not a purely administrative role. The ideal candidate is spiritually mature, relationally wise, attentive to detail, and able to move naturally between behind-the-scenes ministry systems and direct shepherding conversations. Approximately 60-70% of the role is ministry coordination, administration, and analysis; approximately 30-40% is people-facing leader support, participant care, ministry presence, and shepherding.
The role is designed around a scalable, church-based care philosophy: develop healthy leaders, maintain clear ministry structures and pathways, support group-based discipleship, and build repeatable systems that allow the church to care for more people without defaulting to long-term individualized counseling.
Christ Chapel's Mission: "To stretch every involved person from the threshold of their spiritual pilgrimage toward becoming a fully-developing follower of Christ.” (Col 1:28-29).
Role’s Reporting Relationship: This position reports to the Care Minister.
Role Details: Part-time | Non-Exempt | Hourly | 25 hours per week
Qualifications: Role’s Requirements:
Character
Must be a Christian.
A maturing believer who is obviously, consistently and increasingly manifesting the fruit of the Spirit in their daily walk with Christ (Galatians 5:22-23).
Living an “above reproach” lifestyle as outlined in the Christ Chapel Employee Handbook.
Embrace Christ Chapel's doctrinal position and constitution without reservation and be an advocate of our philosophy of ministry.
Represent Christ Chapel well on and off campus with consideration to social media and interaction with the community.
Faithful, available, teachable, and a joy to supervise (Hebrews 13:17).
Embrace a work philosophy of planning and delivering biblically-appropriate, God-honoring, grace-based outcomes.
Demonstrate a “heart for people” including patience with those navigating sin, suffering, grief, conflict, and change.
Calling
Committed to and supportive of the authority of the Elders, the pastoral staff, and the philosophy and direction of the church both in public and in private.
Passionate about proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ and helping people grow as disciples within the life of the local church.
Called to strengthen ministry through both people care and excellent execution, without treating administration as separate from shepherding.
Values volunteer-led ministry and enjoys equipping others rather than becoming the primary caregiver for every need.
Competency
Can build and maintain reliable ministry systems, calendars, communication rhythms, volunteer processes, and participant follow-up.
Can interpret ministry data and recurring needs well enough to surface trends, gaps, and next-step recommendations to ministry leadership.
Maintains confidentiality and exercises wise judgment in emotionally sensitive situations.
Understands role boundaries and can recognize when a participant or leader should be connected to a pastor, another ministry pathway, or an outside professional resource.
Communicates warmly and clearly with volunteers, participants, staff, and ministry partners.
Dependable and punctual, with the ability to follow through on time-sensitive details without losing a pastoral posture.
Spiritual Gifts (Rom 12; 1 Cor 12; Eph 4; 1 Pet 4):
The ideal candidate has spiritual gifts of shepherding/ministering, discernment, exhortation, and service.
Administration, hospitality, mercy, and leadership are especially helpful for carrying out these responsibilities at scale.
Chemistry
This role functions as part of the Fort Worth Campus ministry team and interacts regularly with volunteer leaders, fellow staff, and participants. The ideal candidate will contribute to a collaborative, Christ-centered team culture by being:
Relationally warm and emotionally steady in ministry settings.
Humble, dependable, and responsive to direction from ministry leadership.
A safe, approachable presence for both participants and team members.
A flexible, solutions-oriented team player who can shift between people and process without viewing either as an interruption.
An encourager who builds unity, protects volunteer sustainability, and models grace in relationships.
Role’s Preferences:
Education
A Bible college degree, seminary coursework, or comparable ministry training is preferred.
Significant biblical counseling, discipleship, or shepherding training is strongly preferred.
Experience/Philosophy
At least 3 years of experience in ministry, small groups, discipleship, mentoring, care, or a comparable church leadership environment.
Experience recruiting, coordinating, training, or supporting volunteers.
Experience with group-based ministry and a philosophy of care that sees groups, mentoring, pastoral care, and referrals as complementary pathways rather than assuming every need requires individual counseling.
Experience with ministry operations, project coordination, database/CRM work, event logistics, or process improvement is strongly preferred.
Abilities
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to lead in both one-on-one and group contexts.
Skilled in time management and task prioritization within a flexible part-time role.
Comfortable with basic digital tools for planning, communication, and content delivery (e.g., Microsoft Office, Zoom, digital curriculum platforms).
Willingness to learn Christ Chapel’s systems, including RMS/LMS (people database and e-learning), and printing platforms.
Core Responsibilities:
Ministry Coordination, Systems & Analysis — approximately 60-70%
Own the recurring administrative and operational rhythms for Fort Worth Campus care-oriented groups, including calendars, registrations, rosters, rooms, supplies, communications, leader resources, and ministry-night logistics.
Maintain accurate participant and volunteer information in approved church systems and support appropriate follow-up, next steps, and handoffs.
Build repeatable processes, checklists, templates, and communication rhythms that reduce preventable errors and dependency on individual staff memory.
Coordinate with Communications, Facilities, IT, registration/database support, and other staff partners so ministry leaders are not required to manage routine operational details themselves.
Help prepare and distribute leader resources, participant materials, training information, and semester communications.
Monitor participation patterns, leader capacity, recurring questions, and ministry bottlenecks; summarize useful trends for the Care Minister and Associate Care Minister.
Support the evaluation and orderly addition of future care groups by helping assess leader readiness, curriculum/process needs, registration pathways, communication, and operational feasibility.
Protect role clarity by helping leaders understand what their group or mentoring role can and cannot provide and by maintaining clear pathways for pastoral escalation or outside referral.
Serve as the primary day-to-day coordination contact for assigned Fort Worth care groups while keeping pastoral decisions with the appropriate minister.
Relational Ministry, Leader Support & Shepherding — approximately 30-40%
Provide ongoing encouragement, prayer, support, and practical shepherding to Group Leaders, Coaches, Hosts, and facilitators of other assigned care groups.
Participate in volunteer recruitment, onboarding, training, coaching, and semester transitions; help identify emerging leaders and healthy next steps for their development.
Maintain a meaningful onsite presence for key programming nights, classes, or group gatherings, helping leaders respond wisely to participant needs in real time.
Provide appropriate participant follow-up when someone needs clarification, connection, prayer, a ministry next step, or a pastoral handoff.
Help debrief difficult ministry situations with volunteer leaders so they feel supported and do not carry needs beyond the scope of their role.
Respond to occasional sensitive or urgent ministry needs within training and role boundaries, involving the Care Minister, Associate Care Minister, or other appropriate staff when pastoral judgment or higher-level care is needed.
Contribute to a ministry culture in which participants receive focused help for a season and are encouraged toward ongoing discipleship, community, and broader life in the local church.
Assist with special projects, content updates, training development, and ministry-wide care initiatives as capacity allows.
Success in This Role Looks Like:
Assigned care groups operate predictably and are not dependent on ministers or Central Services staff to catch routine administrative details.
Volunteer leaders know whom to contact, feel supported, understand their role, and are better positioned to serve for the long term.
Participants receive timely communication, appropriate follow-up, and clear next steps without being unnecessarily routed into individualized pastoral care.
Ministry leadership has reliable information about participation, leader capacity, gaps, and opportunities for future group development.
The Fort Worth Campus can steadily expand group-based care while preserving pastoral involvement where pastoral involvement is most needed.
