Behind our digital experiences is a rigorous clinical engine that relies on precise, timely lab diagnostics to power personalised healthcare programmes for our members.
You'll join our lab operations team as a Lab Associate Practitioner, playing a hands-on role in processing samples and delivering accurate test results. Working alongside experienced Biomedical Scientists, medical staff, and laboratory personnel, you will operate key equipment and follow high-standard clinical protocols to ensure our testing process runs smoothly and reliably every day.
What You’ll Do
• Support the development and verification of laboratory tests.
• Handle the receipt of biological samples and prepare them for analysis.
• Operate and maintain a range of automated and semi-automated laboratory equipment and analysers.
• Perform routine laboratory tests accurately and efficiently, following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Perform daily internal quality control (IQC) checks and participate in external quality assurance (EQA) schemes.
• Perform basic troubleshooting of equipment issues under supervision and report malfunctions or breakdowns promptly to senior staff.
• Accurately record and enter data into Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
• Adhere strictly to all laboratory health and safety policies and procedures, including COSHH, sharps disposal, and biological hazard management.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment.
• Work collaboratively with Biomedical Scientists, medical staff, and other laboratory personnel to ensure seamless lab throughput.
Who You Are
• Practical experience working within a laboratory environment, following strict SOPs and quality frameworks.
• Comfortable handling biological samples, using LIMS software, and operating standard laboratory analysers.
• High attention to detail with a methodical approach to data recording, quality control (IQC/EQA), and maintaining clean working conditions.
• Strong safety mindset, with working knowledge of laboratory health and safety policies, COSHH, and biological hazard protocols.
• A clear communicator and collaborative team player who works effectively alongside Biomedical Scientists and clinical staff.
• Reliable and calm under pressure, with good judgement on when to troubleshoot basic equipment issues or escalate breakdowns to senior colleagues.
