Job Overview: The Bar-back in Banquets is an essential team member responsible for assisting bartenders during banquet events at Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort. This role ensures the bar is well-stocked, clean, and organized, allowing bartenders to serve guests efficiently. The Bar-back will support high-quality guest service and contribute to the smooth operation of banquet functions. Key Responsibilities: • Stocking and Inventory Management: • Replenish bar supplies such as liquor, beer, wine, mixers, ice, glassware, and garnishes. • Ensure bar stations are fully stocked before and during events. • Assist in inventory counts and communicate any shortages to the bartender or banquet manager. • Cleaning and Maintenance: • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including wiping down surfaces, cleaning glassware, and disposing of trash. • Ensure bar equipment is clean and in good working condition. • Assist with post-event cleanup and resetting the bar area for the next function. • Customer Service Support: • Assist bartenders in providing excellent service by preparing garnish trays, refilling ice bins, and other preparatory tasks. • Ensure guests have a positive experience by maintaining a courteous and professional demeanor. • Event Preparation: • Assist in setting up and breaking down bar stations before and after events. • Help with transporting and organizing beverages and supplies for different banquet locations within the resort. • Compliance and Safety: • Follow all resort policies and procedures, including safety and sanitation standards. • Adhere to state and local laws regarding alcohol service and safety regulations. Physical Requirements: • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, often for the duration of the event. • Capability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, including kegs, cases of liquor, beer, and wine, and bags of ice. • Ability to perform repetitive motions, such as bending, stooping, and reaching. • Physical stamina to move quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. • Good manual dexterity for handling glassware and bar tools. • Visual acuity to ensure cleanliness and proper stocking levels. Qualifications: • Previous experience in a bar or restaurant environment is preferred. • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. • Ability to work in a team and follow instructions from bartenders and banquet managers. • Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude. • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by banquet event schedules. • Must be of legal age to handle alcohol in the state of Florida.
