Job Title: Driver and Logistics Associate Team: Enterprise Programming Classification: Part-Time/Non-Exempt Reports To: Thrift Store Manager Direct Reports: None Effective Date: December 2025 Position Summary The Driver and Logistics Associate supports Oliver Gospel’s mission by being responsible for safely and effectively driving and operating Oliver Gospel donation vehicles. This position will handle the day-to-day logistics of inspecting, communicating and picking up donations from the public while also coordinating with the Hope Center and Thrift Store to transport donations to and from multiple sites. Position Qualifications For Employment with Oliver Gospel A born-again believer in Jesus Christ Affirm without reservation Oliver Gospel’s Statement of Faith Fully support Oliver Gospel’s Statements of Mission, Vision and Values Ability and desire to work in harmony with other Oliver Gospel employees Be on time and ready to work at the assigned work location on every scheduled day of work Due to sensitivity for potential impact upon Oliver Gospel’s Program Participants, the use of tobacco and/or vaping products is not permitted during scheduled work hours or at any Oliver Gospel event Valid South Carolina driver’s license and must be able to pass an MVR background check For the Driver and Logistics Associate High School diploma or equivalent experience in a related field Strong communication and relational skills Proven customer service experience and skills Excellent driving record Experience in successfully driving, loading, securing and unloading items in a box-style moving truck Position Responsibilities • Responsible for receiving, approving and scheduling donation pickups with the public using the software provided • Responsible for coordinating with the Program and Facility Managers to coordinate mission pickups and deliveries • Communicate effectively with the Thrift Store manager, processing team and donors to exchange information regarding pick up schedules, routes and donation details • Responsible for capturing donor information into Thrifttrac to ensure donor information is correct and updated • Recording and maintaining a pickup log of all donations and deliveries • Navigate routes using GPS systems adjusting plans as necessary due to traffic, weather conditions or road closures to ensure the most efficient trip • Transporting, unloading and delivering items in a safe and secure manner to prevent damage, spoilage or loss • Follow best practices and store policies on truck safety both on the road and during loading/unloading • Provide excellent customer service to all donors and partners, sharing the mission of Oliver Gospel and the impact of their partnership • Provide Training to the OG Works participants according to the OG Works program in driving and logistics. • Preparing, operating and inspecting vehicles associated with pickup and delivery • Communicate effectively with the Thrift Store manager, processing team and donors to exchange information regarding pick up schedules, routes and donation details • Navigate routes using GPS systems adjusting plans as necessary due to traffic, weather conditions or road closures to ensure the most efficient trip • Assist in processing, opening / closing procedures and store cleanliness • Attend meetings and events as determined by the supervisor • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor Core Competencies Task-oriented and self-motivated Detailed and careful in handling assignments Experienced team player Ability to handle customer service issues with professionalism Ability to maintain a professional demeanor Ability to maintain a positive attitude in challenging circumstances Mental and Physical Demands Ability to work in a changing, growth-oriented environment Ability to concentrate and apply mental processes Ability to follow the instructions of the supervisor Ability to work with disruptions, critical issues and emotional individuals Ability to multi-task, prioritize and deal with interruptions while meeting deadlines Ability to operate a computer, cash register, credit card machine and other store equipment Ability to stand and move about the store for long periods of time Ability to continually squat, bend, reach upward and outward to handle merchandise Ability to frequently lift and carry materials weighing up to 40 pounds Ability to frequently push or pull materials weighing up to 100 pounds Ability to engage in limited exposure to health-related issues such as colds, viruses, etc.
