Typical hours are 7:00 a.m.- 3:30 p.m. • This position is based within Jefferson Regional Laboratory Department Job Summary: The Outpatient Reference Clerk is responsible for registering patients for laboratory testing. This role performs scheduled courier trips to reference client’s offices to pick-up specimens and deliver supplies. Other duties include processing specimens for laboratory testing and perform clerical duties as assigned and performing outpatient phlebotomy procedures. Outpatient Reference Clerk Qualifications: • High School diploma or equivalent required. • Technical Diploma in phlebotomy preferred. • Completion of an accredited phlebotomy program preferred. • Certification in phlebotomy preferred. • This is a safety sensitive position. * • Minimum Requirements: • Basic knowledge of computer systems and data entry. • Willingness to learn and develop phlebotomy skills. • Excellent customer service skills • Ability to operate a vehicle and maintain acceptable driving record • Ability to learn techniques for venipunctures • Preferred Requirements: • Experience in clinical setting • Experience in phlebotomy procedure Benefits & Perks: your health and happiness matters!
