Why Choose MSI Express? • Work on projects that make an impact • Tackle meaningful business challenges • Engage with cross-functional teams • Learn from business leaders • Develop leadership skills About the Role: As a Production Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in one or more of the following areas: • Manufacturing Operations Support: Assist production teams in monitoring daily manufacturing activities to ensure safety, quality, and productivity objectives are met. • Continuous Improvement Projects: Support initiatives focused on reducing waste, improving efficiencies, and optimizing production processes. • Performance Monitoring: Collect and analyze operational data to identify trends, improvement opportunities, and process bottlenecks. • Standard Work Development: Assist in creating and updating work instructions, process documentation, and visual management tools. • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with maintenance, quality, supply chain, and engineering teams to support operational goals. What we look for in a Production Intern: • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Interest in manufacturing operations and continuous improvement. • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment. • Strong communication and teamwork skills. • Currently enrolled in an Operations Management, Manufacturing, Engineering, Business, or related academic program. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. Working Conditions / Physical Requirements • Work is performed in both office and manufacturing plant environments. • Frequent exposure to production areas with varying temperatures, noise levels, moving machinery, forklifts, and other industrial conditions. • Must follow all safety requirements and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout manufacturing facilities. • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and access elevated platforms as necessary. • Must be able to occasionally bend, kneel, stoop, reach, and work around equipment during project activities. • Frequent use of computers and standard office equipment. • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. • Periodic travel may be required to other MSI Express locations and end-of-internship events.
