Job Duties • Assures delivery of safe and effective patient care. • Develops ongoing recruitment strategies and oversees their implementation. • Collaborates to establish planning consistent with the mission, strategic operation, quality and safety improvement plan, and overall organizational goals. • Monitors vacancy and turnover rates; designs and implements programs to achieve minimal vacancies and reduce turnover. • Participates in and applies research in practice. • Establishes priorities to meet clinical and operational requirements. • Develops and implements systems that enable consistent evaluation of nursing care provided. • Develops, reviews, and/or recommends revision of policies, procedures, and practices. Examples: Push/pull patients on bed, stretcher (requires 29 lbs. push force), lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of the patient's weight. Frequent to continuous standing/walking. Patient transporters can walk 8-10 miles per shift. *Patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
