Description • Ensures that quality nursing care is delivered to all patients on assigned nursing units, in accordance with the philosophy, policies, proce­dures, and program plans of the hospital. • Ensures patient care standards, orientation, and continuing education standards are followed. • Demonstrates an understanding of the principles of growth and develop­ment to assess each patient's age, specific needs, and plans age specific treat­ment and care. • Other roles and reponsibilities as assigned. Requirements Education and Experience: • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. • Current Illinois licensure. • Bachelor's degree preferred. • PALS, ACLS, and/or Neonatal Resuscitation certificate may be required. • Minimum of five years acute care nursing experience. • Demonstrated supervisory competence. Required Skills/Abilities: • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills. • Demonstrated clinical expertise and knowledge in assigned nursing units. Physical Requirements: • Work is of moderate demand. • Routine lifting requirements fewer than 25 pounds, occasional lifting requirements of medium to heavy demand. • Standing, sitting, walking, bending, and reaching re­quired. • May be required to assist with and/or transport patients. • Works inside. • May be exposed to communicable diseas­es.
