Position Details • Role: Project Manager/ Program Manager – Data Engineering • Experience Range: 6 to 10 Years • Hiring Location: Trivandrum • Shift Timing: 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM IST (supporting US-based clients) Role Summary We are seeking an experienced Project / Program Manager to lead distributed onshore-offshore teams delivering data engineering, data migration, and data modernization initiatives for a US enterprise client. The role involves end-to-end project delivery, client engagement, governance, people management, resource planning, onboarding, and account growth. This is a management-focused role and does not require hands-on technical development expertise. Must-Have Skills Project & Program Management • Experience managing Data Engineering, Data Migration, Data Modernization, or ETL implementation projects. • Strong understanding of data project lifecycles, estimations, planning, delivery tracking, and risk management. • Proven experience managing multiple workstreams and dependencies. Agile Delivery Management • Strong knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies. • Experience conducting daily standups, sprint reviews, backlog grooming, and release planning. • Hands-on experience with project tracking tools such as: • Jira • Azure DevOps Client & Stakeholder Management • Minimum 3 years of direct engagement with US-based clients. • Ability to manage executive-level communications, governance meetings, and stakeholder expectations. • Experience presenting project status, risks, KPIs, and escalation plans. People Management • Proven experience leading distributed onshore/offshore teams. • Experience managing teams of 25+ members. • Strong skills in: • Performance management • Coaching and mentoring • Employee engagement • Conflict resolution • Resource planning and succession management Communication Skills • Excellent verbal and written English communication. • Ability to conduct executive reviews, governance meetings, and difficult conversations with confidence. Good-to-Have Skills • Exposure to Data Warehousing, Cloud Data Platforms, or Analytics programs. • Experience supporting account growth and identifying new business opportunities. • Knowledge of onboarding, training management, and workforce development processes. • Experience working with global delivery models. • PMP, PMI-ACP, Scrum Master, SAFe, or related project management certifications. • Familiarity with compliance, security, and access governance processes. Key Responsibilities Project Delivery & Tracking • Maintain an integrated project plan and backlog across all workstreams. • Track project progress, risks, issues, dependencies, and blockers. • Monitor sprint commitments and drive recovery plans when required. • Manage scope changes and stakeholder expectations. Client Collaboration & Governance • Serve as the primary point of contact for client managers and leads. • Prepare and present weekly status reports and monthly governance reviews. • Maintain risk, issue, decision, and action logs. • Monitor and report delivery KPIs. People Management • Lead, motivate, and manage teams across multiple locations. • Conduct performance reviews and regular feedback sessions. • Identify and address performance or skill gaps. • Drive employee engagement and retention initiatives. • Ensure backup planning and timely resource replacement. Onboarding & Training • Manage onboarding activities for new team members. • Coordinate technical, domain, and process training programs. • Track training completion, certifications, and readiness. • Promote knowledge-sharing sessions and documentation management. Resource & Operations Management • Manage resource allocation, utilization, and workforce planning. • Coordinate hiring requirements with recruitment teams. • Review and approve candidate fitment for project needs. • Ensure compliance, security, and access management adherence. • Validate timesheet and billing accuracy. Account Growth • Identify opportunities for additional client support and service expansion. • Collaborate with leadership teams to convert opportunities into project proposals. Required Qualifications • 6–10 years of overall IT experience. • Minimum 4 years of Project/Program Management experience in: • Data Engineering • Data Migration • Data Modernization • ETL Implementation Projects • Strong experience with Agile/Scrum delivery models. • Proven success managing distributed onshore/offshore teams. • Minimum 3 years of direct interaction with US-based clients. • Excellent stakeholder management and leadership capabilities.
