Description Assembles and organizes all instruments, equipment, and supplies needed for each specific surgical procedure. Assists in instrument handling and procedure techniques as requested by the surgeon. Maintains a sterile field and technique to assure good patient outcomes. Requirements • Graduate of a professional school earning surgical technology degree. • Complete Certified Surgical Technology Exam within 1 year of hire. • Current BLS certification required. • Ability to work well with physicians, employees, patients, and others. • Ability and willingness to work with patients’ growth and development needs particularly related to the age of patients in the unit/area(s) of assignment. • Ability and willingness to demonstrate and maintain clinical competency as required for the unit/area(s) of assignment. • Ability to manage a chaotic work environment. • Ability and willingness to exhibit behaviors consistent with standards for performance improvement and organizational values (e.g., efficiency & financial responsibility, safety, partnership & service, teamwork, compassion, integrity, and trust & respect). • Ability and willingness to exhibit behaviors consistent with principles for service excellence.
