What You’ll be Doing (Job Details): The AIT Program is a full-time, multi-month program in which the AIT obtains practical on-the-job training in a nursing home environment under the direct supervision of an experienced Administrator preceptor/mentor. The training program includes: Rotation through the various departments and duties in a skilled nursing facility; education on the interrelationships of the facility with outside parties and government agencies (such as the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services); and a study of regulations and requirements associated with the operation of a skilled nursing facility. Other topics of education for those in the AIT position include business/fiscal accounting management and principles of risk management and health care compliance. AIT candidates must meet the minimum regulatory requirements for licensure in Texas. An Administrator’s long-term success in the role is limited only by his/her own performance and motivation. Prior business management experience preferred. MBA or MHA preferred, but other advanced degrees or a Bachelor’s Degree will be considered.
