Job Details: Job Location: Main Plant - San Jose, CA, Salary Range: $18.45 - $18.45Hourly, Major Responsibilities:  Will process donated clothes, house wares, books, toys, jewelry, shoes and miscellaneous items for sale. This is done through pre-sorting, sorting, grading, cleaning, hanging and packaging   May separate (pre-sorts) items according to predetermined classification or criteria   Separates (sorts) and grades items into goods saleable at the regular stores   Removes surface dirt from glassware and small ware placing items, which are not complete and/or broken into containers for the As-Is or trash   Puts saleable clothes on to hangers   Tags and/or prices items   Places items into containers and puts appropriate storage label on container   Works with clients who are assigned for vocational services as requested   Follows and enforces all company procedures   Performs other duties as requested  Qualifications: Requirements  Knowledge of general arithmetic (adding/subtracting) is required    Preferred Qualifications  Basic ability to read and write in English    Equipment Used  Racks, plastic pallets, barrels, watermelon boxes, pallet jack dolly, tag gun, pricing gun, wheeled carts.    Aptitudes/skills/temperament  Ability to perform routine work, adapting to change as it relates to workflow   Ability to maintain self-control and work in cooperation with co-workers   Ability to coordinate hand-eye-foot movement to quickly manipulate and handle item  Ability to examine items and visually differentiating between them based on quality standards   Ability to meet and maintain established standards    Working conditions  Work is performed in a large enclosed warehouse area with even concrete floor surface. The area is heated and has natural ventilation. The temperature will fluctuate depending on locations within the department.   Dust and dirt is controlled by daily cleaning of the work area. Some items may be soiled/dirty or broken. These are either cleaned or disposed of following established procedures. A variety of household cleaning products are used. Work is completed independently but in cooperation with the whole department.   The noise volume is moderately high throughout the day depending on the amount of activity, equipment in operation, radio operation and television testing.   Material handling equipment (forklift, hand truck, moveable containers) may be operated in or near work areas.    Emotional Effort  The job is routine with occasional periods of high activity/demand requiring little or no overtime to complete the work    Physical Requirements  The work pace is steady, requiring lifting and/or carrying up to 25 lbs consistently. On a regular basis heavier item of up to 50 lbs will be lifted/carried either with assistance from another person or by using appropriate material handling equipment.   Normal or corrected talking, hearing, and seeing abilities are sufficient to perform the required tasks.      Responsibilities may be added, deleted or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally either orally or in writing.
