Summary of Performance Expectations Provides patient care duties perioperatively for patients of all ages, infants through adults under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Serves primarily as a scrub technologist. Also functions as a surgical assistant and/or assistant to the circulating nurse. Education and Credentials: Required: Graduate of accredited program of Surgical Technology, military experience, recent experience as a surgical technologist, or two years of clinical surgical technology experience at Catawba Valley Medical Center with no degree. Preferred: BCLS certification from the American Heart Association. Work Experience: Required: Demonstrated ability to function as a surgical assistant in multiple specialties.
