The Caterer Coordinator directs the preparation of and assists with cooking of food as needed Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.  Sets up, monitors, and breaks down physician lounges, catered events, and other occasions  Prepares Salads, Fruits, Deli Platters, Trays and Sandwiches according to standardized recipes  Handles the preparation of the food in accordance with sanitary regulations and makes sure at all times that the food is palatable and appetizing in appearance  Plans, organizes, the preparation of salad and sandwich items for the various needs of the department  Determines whether a product is prepared correctly and decides if it is to be served  Discerns through vision (color perception) and taste the quality of prepared food items  Demonstrates proficiency in the operation of all equipment used in the kitchen  Understands and applies proper sanitation regulations to the daily operations of the department  Checks temperature of prepared foods at various times during the day  Communicates with verbal and written skills to coworkers and supervisors  Assures the timely delivery of food  Adheres to all local, state, and federal regulations  Utilizes resources efficiently and effectively  Maintains safe work environment  Participates in Performance Improvement activities MINIMUM EDUCATION: Able to read, write and understand the English language. PREFERRED EDUCATION: High School Graduate or equivalent MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 1 year in catering, waiting, serving or food service. REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: ANSI Accredited Texas Food Handler or ANSI Accredited Food Manager course or Certified Food Manager from the San Antonio Metropolitan Health District #LI-JH5
