Land, Buildings & Real Estate (LBRE) is the operational core of Stanford University’s physical campus. LBRE constructs and maintains the Stanford campus, where advancements across the academic spectrum are made possible. Our work is founded upon the collective value of dedication, innovation, expertise, teamwork, and continuous improvement. We are committed to serving the university’s academic mission, as well as preserving and enhancing Stanford’s 8,180 acres, and pride ourselves on supporting the teaching and research of the university as “Caretakers of a LEGACY."
About University Architect/Campus Planning and Design
As caretakers of a legacy, the University Architect/Campus Planning and Design office (UA/CPD) - a department within Land, Buildings & Real Estate (LBRE) - leads an integrated approach of strategic planning and design excellence to support a campus environment consistent with Stanford's status as one of the leading academic/research institutions in the world. UA/CPD is charged with leading the university annual capital plan process, developing long range campus framework strategies, planning and siting new buildings, developing and applying site/architecture guidelines for the design of new buildings and landscape, and advocating responsible stewardship of the land through sustainable design.
About the role

The University Landscape Architect works with architects, consultants, and university colleagues in Grounds & Maintenance, Sustainability, Transportation, Utilities and Water, Athletics & Recreation, Housing, and all of the academic schools and units to advocate for placemaking that supports the university mission.
