Title & Dept: Rental Sales Solicitor (RSS) Direct Supervisor: Rental Manager ______________________________________________________________________________ Pre-requisite Qualifications: Individual must be honest, assertive, innovative and career minded. The position needs an individual with advanced knowledge and/or understanding of the operations and features of CEC’s equipment and applicability, etc. Must be able to make Cold Calls on job sites soliciting rental business. Must follow all driving rules in CEC driving CPM and obey all traffic laws during the time a CEC vehicle is being driven. Must be able to drive 10-12 hours daily. Must be able to walk around various jobsites and mines on various types of gravel, soil and mud. ______________________________________________________________________________ Primary Job Duties: 1. Reports to Rental Manager for all job functions. 2. Conducts an on-going survey of all potential prospects for the company’s products. 3. Plans and submits a weekly itinerary for the planned activity of presenting and promoting the rental of the company’s products. 4. Keeps a current “Deal List” for all deals pending. 5. Prepares daily call reports of rental activity and meets with Area Rental and Sales Managers to discuss the results of field sales work. 6. Monitors competitive activity in assigned area and reports all lost rentals to Area Rental Manager. 7. Monitors daily rental activity report and Salesmen copy of rental contracts. Actively follows up on new rental customers and non-regular accounts renting from the company. 8. Closely monitors application and use of major rental equipment and reports to Area Rental Manager any abuse, neglect and/or unusual job conditions that would contribute to other than normal wear and tear. 9. Keeps familiar with new products developed by the company and by competition, keeps company informed of changes which can affect their performance. 10. Carefully plans and controls all travel, telephone and entertainment expenses. 11. Acts as back-up to Field Salesmen in their absence. 12. Acts as back-up to Rental Manager/Clerk when needed.
