Opportunity: Propel McKeesport School is currently seeking a Long-Term 1st Grade Substitute Teacher to support classes until the end of the 26-27 school year. Key Job Elements: • Instructs scholars and groups in specified content areas. • Monitors students’ progress in and outside of the classroom. • Maintains the physical environment of the classroom. • Carries out lesson plans that were either left by the classroom teacher or rolls out pre-planned lessons appropriate for grade level and Subject area. • Provides support to scholar overall learning when not assigned to a specific classroom, including but not limited to duties coverage, working with small groups of students, etc. Successful candidates will have: • High level of personal organization and planning • Strong communication and relationship building skills • Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development • A commitment to the Promising Principles of Propel • Strong interpersonal skills, cultural competency, high degree of emotional intelligence and self-awareness with the ability to reflect and adapt to diverse environments. Requirements: • Bachelor's degree • DTD Substitutes who do not hold a PA certification will be required to obtain a PA DTD Emergency Certification for the year and LEA associated with employment. • 1+ years working with students in a classroom environment preferred. Pre-employment Requirements: • TB Test • Act 34 Criminal Clearance • Act 114 FBI Clearance • Act 151 Child Abuse Clearance • Mandated Reporter Training • Act 168 Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure • Act 24 Arrest and Conviction Disclosure Daily Rate: $220/day.
