This PRN Emergency Room Registered Nurse position offers flexible scheduling in a dynamic emergency department setting. The role involves delivering comprehensive nursing care to patients across a range of acuities while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Key Responsibilities: • Provide safe, compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to ER patients • Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and promptly identify changes in patient condition • Triage and prioritize patients based on acuity and established protocols • Administer medications, IV therapies, treatments, and other interventions as ordered • Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, laboratory results, and other clinical indicators • Recognize and respond appropriately to emergency and rapidly changing patient conditions • Assist physicians and other providers with emergency procedures and patient stabilization • Participate in resuscitation and other emergency response activities as appropriate • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, technicians, and other healthcare professionals • Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records and nursing documentation • Provide patient and family education regarding medications, treatments, discharge instructions, and follow-up care • Maintain patient safety, infection prevention, and quality-of-care standards Qualifications: • Graduate of an accredited nursing program • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required • Current Registered Nurse license in the State of California • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Preferred Skills: • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred • Additional emergency nursing education or specialty training preferred • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification preferred • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification a plus • Additional Emergency Department or critical-care certifications welcomed • Previous Emergency Room or Emergency Department RN experience preferred • Acute-care nursing experience considered • Strong patient assessment and critical-thinking skills • Ability to prioritize care effectively • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to remain calm and focused during emergency situations
