APM Terminals Key Responsibilities • Operate and monitor ammonia refrigeration systems, compressors, condensers, evaporators, pumps, and associated equipment. • Carry out preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities as per the maintenance schedule. • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation faults in refrigeration equipment. • Monitor system parameters such as pressure, temperature, oil levels, refrigerant levels, and compressor performance. • Conduct routine inspections to identify leaks, abnormal vibrations, and equipment defects. • Ensure compliance with ammonia handling procedures and safety regulations. • Maintain records of maintenance activities, equipment history, and operating parameters. • Supervise contractors during shutdowns, overhauls, and major maintenance activities. • Ensure availability of critical spare parts and maintain inventory records. • Participate in emergency response activities related to ammonia leakage or equipment failure. • Implement energy-saving and reliability improvement initiatives. • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and company safety standards. Experience • 5–8 years of experience in industrial ammonia refrigeration systems. • Experience in food processing, cold storage, dairy, beverage, pharmaceutical, or industrial manufacturing plants is preferred. Technical Skills • Operation and maintenance of ammonia refrigeration systems. • Screw and reciprocating compressors. • Refrigeration control systems and PLC-based automation. • Pumps, valves, cooling towers, evaporative condensers, and heat exchangers. • Preventive and predictive maintenance practices. • Root Cause Analysis (RCA). • Reading P&IDs and engineering drawings. • Safety standards related to ammonia refrigeration.
