Job Description: Medical Assistant - Float Location: Westhampton, Riverhead, Wading River, Rocky Point, Mt. Sinai, Port Jefferson, & East Setauket, NY Hours/Days: 5/8.5 hour shifts, Mon-Fri between 7am-8pm Organization: New York Health (NYH) - PCP In this role, you will: • Manage patient intakes, ensuring accurate information recording • Collect and process lab specimens, including venipuncture and diagnostic tests • Record patients' vital signs • Prepare patients for examinations • Sterilize medical equipment and instruments • Assist providers and other support staff in the data entry process • Assist physicians during visits with examinations and all office procedures • Perform EKGs and point-of-care testing • Other duties as assigned We require: • A Medical Assistant Certificate and a High School Diploma • Proficiency with an EMR system (Preferred) • Bilingual English/Spanish (Preferred) • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, standing, bending and reaching • Knowledge of standard precautions and the ability to utilize appropriate PPE when handling bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times • Reliable transportation to travel to NYH locations for patient care needs What we offer: Salary: Starting at $24 per hour Benefits: Including health insurance from Day 1, dental and vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, 401k, PTO, 8 paid holidays (including 2 floating holidays), and more.
